Basin Recreation has approved the conceptual design for a major redevelopment of the Trailside Wheels Park in Utah with the project aiming to create a more accessible and inclusive recreation space for people of all ages and abilities.
Approved unanimously by the Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District Administrative Control Board, the redesign will completely transform the ageing skatepark into a modern “wheel-friendly” facility featuring new street-style terrain, a dedicated warm-up and beginner area, transition-style features and an integrated pump track. The redevelopment will expand the park from approximately 16,000 square feet to more than 25,000 square feet, allowing it to better accommodate skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes and inline skates while supporting users with a wide range of skill levels. The design was informed by extensive community consultation, with riders and residents providing input throughout the planning process.
The project is intended to create a welcoming, multi-generational space that encourages participation, progression and social connection while improving accessibility and inclusivity across the facility.
