A Playground designed with a focus on long-term durability, reducing the need for replacement through adaptable and resilient design, recently took home a win at the European Product Design Award 2025, earning recognition in the Outdoor category. The EPDA received submissions from designers in more than 58 countries and a jury panel of over 30 design leaders.
The playground incorporates modular and flexible elements that can be adjusted, repaired, or reconfigured rather than removed entirely. This approach supports ongoing usability while minimising waste and maintenance demands associated with full replacements. The concept prioritises materials and structures that can withstand heavy use and environmental exposure over time.
Design features include robust construction, simplified components, and layouts that allow for gradual updates. The structure is intended to evolve with community needs while maintaining safety and functionality.
