A convicted child abductor in New Zealand breached his release conditions after being found at a playground and near multiple education facilities shortly after leaving prison. Details from the original offence revealed the offender had loitered outside a childcare centre before scaling a 2-metre fence and entering the grounds undetected, ultimately abducting a young child.
Electronic monitoring data showed he entered a park containing a playground within days of release, followed by visits to a high school and early childhood centres. He later admitted to entering the playground area and was issued a warning before being taken back into custody after further breaches.
