A new coastal playground has opened in South Australia, featuring a large Blue Swimmer Crab play structure as the centrepiece of a marine-themed play space. The redevelopment replaces the previous playground and includes more than 15 interactive play elements designed to encourage climbing, exploration and imaginative play.
The upgraded playground incorporates a range of inclusive features, including an accessible trampoline, carousel, Liberty Swing and sensory play elements, allowing children of varying abilities to participate in play activities together. Additional equipment includes swings, slides, climbing structures, rockers, musical elements and themed sculptures inspired by local marine life.
Located on the Semaphore foreshore, the playground has been designed to support family recreation and community use, with accessible picnic settings, barbecue facilities and shaded areas. The project forms part of ongoing investment in public recreation infrastructure and aims to create an engaging destination for residents and visitors while improving accessibility and play opportunities for children.
