27 year old adelaide man dies two days after bmx fall at skate park

A 27-year-old man, identified as Sam Inwood, died in hospital on 31 January 2026, two days after falling from a BMX bike at Golden Grove skate park in Adelaide’s northeast.

The incident occurred around 2pm on 29 January while Inwood was riding at the park. Witnesses said it was his first time using the BMX bike and that he was wearing a helmet. He initially declined medical treatment after the fall but was later taken to hospital when his condition deteriorated. A witness later said Inwood had sustained internal injuries that led to significant blood loss.

Police confirmed the incident and subsequent death. Friends described Inwood as a vibrant individual, and his death has prompted renewed discussion around rider safety at skate parks.
