unsafe skate park fenced off as work begins on new play area

A skate park in England has been fenced off after being assessed as unsafe, while work progresses to replace the facility with a new adventure playground and outdoor fitness area. The existing structure was closed following safety concerns, with fencing and signage installed to prevent public access.

Plans for the site include a new play space designed with separate zones for different age groups and abilities. Proposed features include obstacle-style play elements and outdoor exercise equipment aimed at both younger users and older children or adults seeking physical activity.

The redevelopment forms part of broader improvements to local recreational facilities. The skate park will remain closed during construction, with the new play and fitness area intended to provide inclusive play opportunities and active recreation once completed.
