arson damages village playground causing €30,000 in losses

A children’s playground in Wales has been destroyed in an arson attack, leaving a village community facing the loss of equipment valued at about £30,000.

Emergency services responded to the fire after the playground was set alight, with the blaze causing extensive damage and leaving much of the structure unusable.

The incident has prompted a police investigation, with authorities appealing for information about those responsible. Local residents and officials described the destruction as devastating for the community, particularly as the playground served as an important outdoor recreation space for children. Efforts to assess the damage and determine next steps for the site are expected following the fire.
