Wooden Skatepark Ramps Removed Over Reported Injuries and Safety Concerns

Skatepark ramps installed at a park in Manchester have been removed following safety concerns raised. The ramps, which had been set up as part of a temporary or seasonal installation, were taken down after local complaints of injuries and deteriorating equipment.

Concerns focused on the suitability of the equipment within the park setting, including potential hazards to users and the need for appropriate supervision and compliance with safety requirements. The removal was carried out to prevent injury and reduce liability while further decisions are made.

The skatepark elements had provided recreational use for the community, but authorities determined that the risks associated with the setup required immediate action.
