Modular Timber Playgrounds Designed for Rapid Use in Disaster Zones

A modular timber playground system has been developed to provide safe play spaces in disaster-affected areas, where infrastructure is often damaged or unavailable. The design allows playgrounds to be quickly assembled using simple components, supporting fast deployment in emergency or recovery settings.

The system uses lightweight timber materials and modular construction, enabling transport and installation with minimal equipment. Components can be adapted to suit different site conditions, allowing flexibility in layout and use.

The approach focuses on providing accessible recreational spaces for children during recovery periods, with structures designed for durability while remaining easy to repair or replace as needed. The modular format also allows elements to be reused or reconfigured over time.
