Skate Park closes and future remains undecided

skate park closes and future remains undecided

The skate park in Utah was closed in early December 2025 after more than 20 years of use, with city officials citing safety concerns and the facility reaching the end of its useful life. Independent evaluations determined the structure was no longer safe to maintain, leading to its immediate closure and planned demolition.

A survey and community engagement process is underway to gather input on possible next steps, including rebuilding the skate park at its current location, relocating it, or allocating funds to other community amenities.

City leaders have formed or are considering forming a committee involving residents and youth representatives to examine the viability and location of a replacement facility, but no final decision has been made on whether a new skate park will be constructed or where it would be sited.
