Coroner’s Report Highlights Failures Behind Tasmania Jumping Castle Tragedy
The Tasmanian coroner has released their final report into the 2021 tragedy where six children lost their lives after a jumping castle became airborne during end-of-year school celebrations at Hillcrest Primary School.
The report found that the castle was not anchored according to manufacturer instructions, and weather conditions, including strong winds, had not been properly considered. The investigation also pointed to a lack of clear training or qualifications for those operating the equipment, and no formal safety checks were in place prior to use.
