What to Expect from our Online Self-Paced Playground Safety Training
Online learning has come a long way — and we understand that when it comes to professional certification, you want more than just a collection of videos you click through alone. If you have been wondering whether an online, self-paced course can genuinely prepare you for real-world playground safety inspection, this post walks you through exactly how our online training works and why the quality of the learning experience remains our first priority.
Is Online Learning as Good as Attending in Person?
The honest answer is that it depends entirely on how you or your employee prefer to learn – can you sit independently, concentrate and complete videos online undistracted and uninterrupted? Are you a hands-on learner? Can you travel to our in-person locations? Are you available on our limited date/s?
Our goal is to keep training as interactive and high quality delivery as possible for our self-paced learners – every online course we offer is built from real live stream training events, recorded, and then refined/edited specifically for independent and self-paced study. Here is what that looks like in practice.
How the Course Content Is Produced
Our online courses are not off-the-shelf recordings. We record our live stream training events and then edit that footage into a clean, focused learning experience. Breaks, incidental conversation, and any material that does not serve your learning are removed. What remains is structured, sequenced content that moves at a purposeful pace.

The result is training that carries the same expertise and depth as our live sessions — delivered in a format you can engage with on your own schedule.
How we cover the Practical
For in-person courses including a non-assessed site visit practical session we provide this learning through pre-recorded site sessions with our trainers. These videos are covered either in the live stream recording or a separate edit to ensure the on-site expectations of students inspecting sites is covered.

Four Weeks of Access to Revisit Important Insights
When you enrol in an online self-paced course, you receive four weeks of access to all recorded lectures. This matters because professional training is rarely a one-pass exercise. You may need to revisit a particular standard, review how a specific inspection process was explained, or refresh your understanding before completing an assessment.
That access does not disappear once you have watched a module for the first time. Throughout your four weeks, you can return to any theory lecture content at any time by visiting the Completed Activity tab in your main dashboard.

This means your learning does not have a hard stop the moment you submit an activity — the content remains available as a working reference right up until your access period ends.
You Will Always Know Where You Left Off
For longer course modules, we include a tick-as-you-go feature. As you work through the content, you mark each section complete. This gives you a clear, running picture of exactly where you are in the module at any point.
There is no guesswork about what you have covered and what still needs attention. Whether you step away for an afternoon or return to the course a few days later, your progress is right there in front of you.
Your Progress Is Saved Automatically
All activities in our online courses auto-save as you go. You will not lose your work if your connection drops, if you need to close your browser unexpectedly, or if you simply run out of time and need to continue later.
This is a practical feature that removes one of the most frustrating aspects of online study — the risk of having to start an activity again from the beginning.
How Module Completion Works
Once you have worked through a module activity, you submit it using the Submit button. At that point, the activity is checked for completion and approved for a satisfactory module result.
This straightforward process means there is no ambiguity about whether you have finished a module or not. The system confirms your result, and you can move forward with confidence.
Assessments
All assessments are completed self-paced online and do not vary for training delivery options selected.
Other considerations
Do you have any literacy, language or numeracy (LLN) assistance needs? Our lead qualified trainer and assessor Lynnel Crockart reviews all training content to ensure mapped learning outcomes – all courses include a manual guide which is a copy of the lecture content, ordered, for easy learning and take-home keep reference for the Safety Standards and best-practices at the time of publication. All videos include the option for video speed (up or down), closed captions and full screen suitable for device or screen-share (e.g., to a TV or projector-like set up).
If you have specific LLN please kindly include the details in your enrolment form, or contact us or your trainer after enrolment to advise of your specific needs so they can be met or adjust your enrolment accordingly to help your learning journey.
Change of mind
If you start your online self-paced or live stream training with us and it does not align with your learning preferences, please contact our office within a reasonable timeframe to transfer your enrolment to a different event or delivery mode or organise a credit for another staff member or future training. Please note, this request is to be reviewed and actioned at the Trainer/s discretion and can be rejected if content has been accessed or significant time has passed since activation.
The Same Standard, Delivered Differently
Our online self-paced training is not a shortcut to certification. It is a genuine learning pathway designed for professionals whose schedules do not always allow for fixed-date training sessions or travel restrictions or cost benefits. The content, the standards it covers, and the outcome are the same — what changes is the format and the flexibility.
We have structured the online experience to support independent learners at every step: clear progress tracking, auto-saved work, access to completed content, and a straightforward submission process that confirms your results as you go.
If you are ready to work toward your playground safety certification on your own terms, our online self-paced courses are open for enrolment now. Visit our course page to review what is available and secure your place by enroling here.
